Dubai: Omniyat Properties has awarded the main construction contract for the Dh1.7 billion The Opus, its commercial and retail development at the Business Bay, to Multiplex (trading in Dubai as Nasa Multiplex), one of the leading commercial construction contractors in the Middle East.

The multi-million dirham contract, whose Letter of Acceptance (LoA) was signed recently in Dubai by Mehdi Amjad, president and chief executive of Omniyat Properties and Graeme Robson, chief executive of Multiplex Middle East and Asia, mandates Multiplex to manage the development's construction and ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.

Record

Amjad said, "The main driver behind awarding the construction contract of The Opus to Multiplex is their track record of delivering highly complex, prestigious and challenging projects. We are confident that Omniyat and Multiplex can work in tandem to complete The Opus in a timely and cost effective manner".

Situated on a unique "island" plot, The Opus is strategically positioned to offer its tenants exclusivity, with a spectacular view of Burj Dubai and the Signature Towers, without any adjoining properties or projects.

The Opus is designed with the commercial tenant in mind, who would be blue chip companies and high networth individuals expecting high standards and luxury in everything they do, including work. Due for delivery in 2010, over 80 per cent of The Opus is already sold out.

Designed by renowned architect Zaha Hadid, the project which is valued at over Dh1.7 billion, will enhance the skyline of Business Bay with an iconic, artistic and unique architectural design.
