Dubai: Dubai's main index ended 2.54 per cent lower on Monday after a volatile trading session in the UAE as uncertainty over the global financial outlook returns.
Emaar Properties and Union Properties ended 2.98 per cent and 6.23 per cent lower respectively.
Dubai Islamic Bank declined 4.15 per cent. The Dubai benchmark closed 2.54 per cent lower at 4,200 points.
In contrast, Abu Dhabi's main index closed 1.65 per cent higher at 4,014 points, with real estate shares among its top gainers.
Sorouh Real Estate and Aldar Properties closed 7.69 per cent and 8.11 per cent higher respectively, while First Gulf Bank ended up 5.33 percent.
