Karachi: Pakistan's benchmark stock index, the Karachi Stock Exchange 100 Index, rose 0.50 per cent at the close yesterday.
The index of 100 companies traded on the Karachi Stock Exchange rose 55.41 to 11,083.55. Among the stocks in the index, 51 rose, 31 fell and 18 were unchanged.
Gains in the Karachi Stock Exchange 100 Index were led by Nestle Pakistan Ltd, Oil & Gas Development Co and Standard Chartered Bank Pakistan Ltd.
Engro Corp Ltd, which fell Pakistani Rs4.72 (Dh0.19) to Rs92.01, was the most active stock by value in Pakistan.
The next most-active issues were Fauji Fertilizer Co. Ltd, which fell 1.29 to Rs149.95, and Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim Ltd, which rose Rs1.00 to Rs46.15.
