Manpower demand is more than supply
Dubai: By the end of 2008, manpower demand will suck up much of the market supply, top industry officials say.
"There are about 800,000 jobseekers in the GCC and we are hoping to provide jobs for 40 per cent of the applicants," Pat Foy, managing director of recruitgulf.com, a recruitment company, told Gulf News.
"The job market in the UAE is very exciting and we see huge potential not just here but across the GCC," Foy said.
Mahmoud Hatami, operations manager, Gulf Talent, a recruitment agency, meanwhile said: "There is more demand than supply for recruitment in the region and the salaries are on the rise as a result."
recruitgulf.com launched a campaign to encourage Emiratis into the national workforce.
Foy said, foreigners make up 80 per cent of applicants looking for jobs in the UAE.
