Dubai: As part of its approach to marketing in the Middle East, car manufacturer Mini has tied up with Art Sawa Gallery and Syrian born artist Khalid Abdul Wahid to produce a unique piece of art to celebrate Mini's 50th birthday, using this Mini Cabrio as a blank canvas.

The car will be displayed at the Dubai Motor Show starting on December 16.

Choosing a geometric pattern for the creation, Abdul Wahid drew on Arabic culture, art and history while also incorporating the evolution of the Mini brand. The creation is "an inspired and colourful celebration of everything Mini from its beginnings in 1959 up to the present day", the manufacturer says.

From a distance the design is synonymous with Arabic art, but on closer inspection you will see the classic Mini as well as current day editions. For the artist, inspiration was also drawn from Abdul Wahid's five-year-old daughter who liked the "cute eyes" on the Mini.

Since its launch, Mini continues to redefine small car design. The car enjoys worldwide popularity among all ages and groups.

Syrian artist Khalid Abdul Wahid has designed this special Mini.
