Emirates upgrades aircraft on Dakar service

Dubai: Emirates, one of the world’s fastest growing airlines, has inaugurated its Airbus 340-300 aircraft on its Dubai-Dakar route effective from March 31, 2013. Previously serviced by an Airbus 330-200, deploying the Airbus 340-300 on Emirates’ flights EK 798 and 797 will give more than 16 per cent boost to seat capacity.

“With the additional capacity, we will help to satisfy the growing demand, while providing more opportunities for travel between Dakar, Dubai and beyond to our network of more than 130 destinations across the Middle East, the Indian Sub-continent, Asia and the Far East through our hub in Dubai,” said Jean Luc Grillet, Emirates’ Senior Vice President Commercial Operations for Africa. The new aircraft has 262 seats in a three-class configuration offering 11 luxurious First Class seats, 42 seats in Business Class and generous space for 209 passengers in Economy Class. All classes of the new aircraft are equipped with Emirates’ ice entertainment system with hundreds of channels on-demand entertainment to choose from, including movies, television programmes, games, audio books and music from across the world. In addition to the entertainment, passengers can enjoy delicacies from the exclusive menu served by Emirates Cabin Crew from over 120 nations, including Senegal.
