: Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition – DIHAD, in cooperation with the UAE Red Crescent Authority and the support of the UAE Embassy in Jordan, launched earlier a humanitarian initiative to support the Syrian refugees in the Emirati- Jordanian Refugee camp ‘Mrajeeb Al Fhood’ in Zarqa Governorate, near the Jordanian capital, Amman. The campaign, involved providing and distributing a total of 2,400 school bags, stationery and other essential educational supplies for the students of the camp. More than 2,400 Syrian refugee children received school bags, stationery and other essential educational supplies at a refugee camp in Jordan from a Dubai based charity, helping them go back to school.

The supplies provided by Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD), were handed over by Emirates Red Crescent to the students at ‘Mrajeeb Al Fhood’ Refugee Camp in Zarqa Governorate, near the Jordanian capital, Amman.

The initiative is aimed supporting Syrian refugee children and bringing a smile on their faces as they head back to school in the new academic year.

A delegation headed by Dr Abdul Salam Al Madani, Executive Chairman of DIHAD, visited the UAE-Jordanian camp to make sure all facilities, including clinics, hospital, school, library, among others are operating properly.

“We aim, through this visit, to give a hand to all the people who are sparing no efforts to provide the best services for the refugees in the camp under the guidance of the UAE leadership,” said Dr Al Madani.

Services offered at the camp cover different fields ranging from education and health to professional services such as a sewing workshop, which Al Madani said, help the camp residents to live a close-to-normal life.

Mohammad Mubarak Al Mansouri, director of the camp thanked the delegation for their visit and help.

DIHAD Conference and Exhibition has become a world-renowned humanitarian gathering, which puts the spotlight on humanitarian aid and relief efforts in the region and the world and aims to make a difference in the lives of needy people.

The next edition of the conference will be held from March 12 to 14, 2019 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
