Dubai: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation completed nearly 127,000 transactions for recruitment of domestic workers across the country last month.

The applications were submitted by customers through Tasheel and Tadbeer centres as well as typing offices approved by the ministry.

Khalil Khouri, assistant undersecretary for domestic workers’ affairs at the ministry, underlined the ministry’s keenness to provide outstanding services that meet customers’ aspiration and make them happy.

The ministry has rolled out a package of regulations and rules related to recruitment of domestic workers that are in line with the Emirates Programme for Excellence in Government Services.

Khouri said that nearly 127,000 applications for recruitment of domestic workers were processed and completed in July. Of these, 30,499 transactions in Abu Dhabi, 25,600 in Al Ain, 23,551 in Dubai, 17,939 in Sharjah, and 9,996 in Ras Al Khaimah.

A total of 6,897 applications were processed in Fujairah, 4,998 in Ajman, 3,369 in Umm Al Quwain and 3,850 in Al Dhafra Region of Abu Dhabi.

The transactions included new entry permits, renewal of work permits, issuance of new work permits, issuing new employment contracts, renewing or cancelling other contracts, among others.

“Fifty per cent of these transactions were completed in less than one hour, while others took between one hour and 72 hours according to the nature of the submitted transactions,” said Khouri.

He stressed that 17 Tadbeer centres have already been opened across the country. They offer services related to recruiting domestic workers through four packages.
