Why use this video?
Does the warning from the authorities on the unauthorised sharing of videos not apply to Gulf News (“Two killed, 8 injured in crash on Dubai’s Al Wasl Road”, Gulf News, March 7)? Please act responsibly and have some respect for the dead and injured. The newspaper should be ashamed of itself for sensationalising these passengers’ terrible misfortune, just to attract readers to their Facebook page.

Tragic scene shared
Why is Gulf News getting these tragic scenes filmed and shared on social media? Poor family... to see such images on a public forum must be heartbreaking.

Gulf News reflects what is happening in the world. It does not censor or sensationalise. The video was provided by the Dubai Police, is relevant to the story and is the point of the report. Our social media channels are an extension of our news providing service. So the video was necessary to illustrate the story and was used across digital platforms.
