Gulf News

The four-day “White Friday” sale on Souq.com kicked off yesterday, with offers up to 85% off on items ranging from clothes to electronics, for Middle East customers, as stated in the Gulf News report, “‘White Friday’ craze kicks off: Up to 85% off on 8 million items”, published in the Business section on November 22.

“White Friday” is the Middle East version of the Black Friday sales that take place in the US, which mark the unofficial beginning of the Christmas shopping season.

With the super sales taking place this weekend, we asked our readers how often they shop online and surprisingly 52 per cent of people said: rarely. Twenty-one per cent said that they don’t shop online at all.

Gulf News reader Sadaf Adnan wrote on our Facebook page and said said she doesn’t shop online because “It is risky as you don’t know what you will get.”

According to another Gulf News article, 400 brands are taking part in the four-day sale. With better deals, will such sales help make online shopping popular among the community? Tell us at readers@gulfnews.com.
