DUBAI: The Raffles World Academy (RWA) is organising a charity event – the Artists’s Palette -- in Dubai on November 25.
The event will be the academy’s first ever art exhibition to take place off campus. It will held at the Capital Club Urban Lounge in Dubai International Financial Centre.
“The show will display the cream of artistic talent in our RWA community - encompassing primary and secondary students, staff and parents,” said Marilyn Reberio, teacher, learning support, at the secondary school.
Reberio said the aim of Artists’ Palette is to give the RWA community a platform to showcase their talent and develop their visual, expressive and creative art.
“We have received around 50 entries so far. They include water colours, acrylics, installations and other forms of art.”
Reberio said, “All artworks will be for sale at the event with 10 per cent of the funds raised going towards GIVE or the Gift of Innoventures Education Foundation and 10 per cent going to the academy’s parents’ association PARWA.”
She said GIVE is committed to bringing the community together to provide support to specific causes identified by students. The focus of the foundation is to provide less developed parts of the world better access to much-needed clean drinking water and education.
