Abu Dhabi Abu Dhabi Mun-icipality will have an Open Door policy twice a week where the General Manager will personally meet customers and address their concerns.
A special customer service centre has been set up on the ground floor of the municipality complex on Shaikh Zayed Road where the Open Days will be held every Sunday and Monday from 9am to 1pm.
Launched in 2015, the Open-Day was limited to one day a week until now.
Acting general manager Musabbah Mubarak Al Murar said Open Days had positive results and helped the Municipality heed customers’ needs and issues more efficiently.
Customer satisfaction
“The move to extend the Open Day to two days is part of the Municipality’s efforts to improve customer service and ensure speedy transactions. This initiative is intended to streamline transactional procedures, establish direct communication with the customers, heed their views about our services and meet their expectations,” said Al Murar.
Residents who met Al Murar on the Open Day on Sunday said they are happy to have a face-to-face meeting with the top official.
“This is like holding a majlis in the real UAE tradition. I feel very comfortable in such a setting where I can personally submit my request,” said Emirati Saeed Al Saadi. A Baniyas resident, he had come all the way to the city to apply for a permission to hold an exhibition.
Afra Al Muhairi, a government official, was present at the Open Day with a suggestion to incorporate certain images to the Abu Dhabi picture archives maintained by the Municipality.
“This is very quick. I waited less than five minutes to meet the general manager. After listening to me, he instructed the relevant department to take necessary action,” said Muhairi.
On an average 40 people make use of the Open Day service at the Municipality, according to Adel Alrabeea, Media Adviser at the Municipality.
“We are expecting the numbers to go up as our doors are open twice a week now,” said Alrabeea.
