DUBAI A Dubai nursery school is urging parents to ignore rumours after a circular using their name went viral this week.
The circular, dated Novem-ber 22, warned parents against visiting crowded malls and places during the upcoming holiday period for safety reasons. Appearing with a logo of Chubby Cheeks Nursery, which has four branches in Dubai and one in Sharjah, the notice also said they were cancelling an event scheduled at the Dubai Mall for the same reason.
However, a day after it spread like wildfire on various social circles including WhatsApp, the school posted a statement on their official Facebook page saying that they hadn’t issued any such notice.
No warning
“The note circulating regarding cancellation of the Dubai Mall event due to a UAE Government warning has not been authorised by Chubby Cheeks Nursery senior management and marketing/communications team,” read the announcement.
“We confirm that no official government warning has been issued. We request everyone to refrain from spreading rumours that are not validated,” said the statement.
Roshi Tandon, the nursery’s managing director, told XPRESS the school in fact went ahead with their scheduled visit to the mall.
“Our children visited the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo at the Dubai Mall this week as per the nursery’s planned schedule,” Tandon said.
