Dubai fruit and vegetable shop on wheels

Residents can select fresh fruits and vegetables as the shop comes to their doorstep

Fruit for thought: The ‘fresh2door’ mobile shop will offer 80-90 varieties of fresh fruit and vegetables at no extra charge. Payment can be via cash or bank card

Dubai: A mobile fruit and vegetable shop is all set to hit Dubai roads.

UAE-based company Allfreshco willl roll out the ‘fresh2door’ mobile shop this month, offering buyers a choice of 80-90 varieties of fruit and veggies.

New concept

“The idea is to give residents the option of picking fresh fruits and vegetables at their doorstep at no extra cost,” said Ramzi Mkadmini from Allfreshco. “Our company owner Nevzat Esen came up with this unique concept and got the mobile shop custom-made in Europe.”

The temperature-controlled unit has several shelves stacked with fresh produce. Much like the supermarket, the prices are clearly indicated. Customers can pay either cash or through credit card. A sales staff will be at hand to assist them.

Mkadmini said the mobile shop will turn up at a customer’s door within hours of their making a call. “The best thing about it is that there is no minimum order restriction,” said Mkadmini.

Competitive prices

He said the prices will be competitive since the company purchases directly from farmers and growers which enables it to provide the service without any additional costs.

As the concept grows to cover all areas of Dubai, the company plans to extend its services to neighbouring emirates as well.

Just like the handcart hauling hawkers in Pakistan, difference being that they (hawkers) call out loudly for customers who want to come out and buy. They roam the streets daily... no need to call.
