Manila: Burglars worked their way around an elaborate security system at a suburban Quezon City bank on Sunday and it was only on Monday morning that staff found a bolt cutter, a knife and two crowbars near a vault.
Police Superintendent Tante Agpao of the Quezon City police said the burglars entered the Bank of the Philippine Islands branch in the Capitol Hills district through the roof and used acetylene torches to cut through the steel vault.
"These people are apparently well-versed in security technology."
He said a remote police alarm system and closed circuit security cameras had been deftly disabled.
