Foundation Holdings with Workers

Dubai: A UAE-based global investments firm, Foundation Holdings, offered an opportunity to blue-collar workers to see their cricket heroes in action at the T10 Cricket League match between Bengal Tigers and Punjab Legends.

The 120 workers were selected through a draw held at a series of health awareness workshops spread over two weeks. The workshops were attended by more than 500 participants.

They enjoyed watching the game and cricket stars including Shahid Afridi, Virendra Sehwag, Eoin Morgan and Misbah-ul Haq.

Ghanshyam Banjade, 22, from Nepal emerged as the winner of a return air trip to his home country. Following the match, all 120 winners were given the opportunity to meet Pakistan’s national cricket captain Sarfraz Ahmed, who also leads the Bengal Tigers team.

Banjade said: “Watching the game and then meeting Sarfraz is a dream come true but going home to be united for a few days with my family is even more precious, it’s a blessing. However, I would like to highlight the health drive hosted by Foundation Holdings, which I found to be very helpful and interesting. I will make sure that I take the advice given and attend other such events. It’s the first time I feel that someone actually cares.”

Foundation Holdings said its strategic direction is aligned with the mission of the UAE’s leadership to ensure the health, well-being, happiness and tolerance of all residents.

Abhishek Sharma, CEO of Foundation Holdings, said: “The firm is all about family. We invest in health care and education with the aim of making a difference. I am extremely happy to see the results of our first Corporate Social Responsibility event on our new impact platform. We are well aware that this segment of the working population has contributed, and continues to contribute, to the growth of businesses and to building the country we call home. It is indeed an honour to be able to do our bit to ensure their well-being, both physically and mentally, by relieving stress and anxiety through such events.”

The T10 Cricket League match between Bengal Tigers and Punjab Legends was also attended by select shareholders, advisers and project teams.

Najla Al Midfa, member of the advisory board at Foundation Holdings, said: “I am excited to see the growth of responsible investing in sectors that deliver social value. Foundation Holdings is leading by example in sending out its message of health-care awareness at the grass roots level. What is equally special is the company’s way of inspiring workers to attend its health-care workshops with the promise of a fun day out at the matches.”

Muna Al Gurg, also a member, said: “It’s incredibly important to be committed to the health and well-being of the people who contribute towards building this country. At Foundation Holdings, the management’s compassionate approach towards this underserved segment is to be applauded. As a member of this advisory board, I am proud to be associated with the company and I wish them all success in their journey.”
