Dubai: Motorists have been urged to drive safely as visibility could deteriorate due to dusty conditions and fog formation on Tuesday until Friday.
The National Centre of Meteorology sent the alert to road users and drivers as horizontal visibility could drop to less than 3,000 metres at times over scattered areas, especially over exposed areas.
Moderate to fresh southwesterly wind, gradually becoming northeasterly, will start over western UAE by Monday early morning and will extend gradually over all areas.
The wind, with speed of 20 — 30km/h, reaching to 45km/h especially over the sea, will kick up dust and sand and may cause dust to be suspended in the air and poor visibility.
The Arabian Gulf will become rough and slight to moderate in the Sea of Oman on Monday and Tuesday.
On Tuesday, relative humidity is expected to increase over the far west of the country by early morning and may cause fog to form. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy and hazy with a drop in temperature. Mist or fog may also form early morning and late Wednesday.
On Thursday and Friday, coastal areas will be humid and some parts may have fog on Thursday morning.
There are chances of light rainfall over the coast and some northern areas on these days.
Winds will still kick up dust as moderate to fresh southeasterly to northeasterly wind, becoming northwesterly by Friday afternoon, with speed 20 — 30km/h, reaching to 40km/h over the sea.
The Arabian Gulf will be slight to moderate, becoming rough gradually by Friday afternoon while the Oman Sea will be slight to moderate.
