Dubai: Hyperloop One, the high-speed transport system set to revolutionise transportation in the UAE, has released a video teasing Dubai with a November 8, 2016 announcement.

The team behind Hyperloop One released a You Tube video on Sunday, and in the promotional teaser, said: “Dubai to Abu Dhabi in 12 minutes, Dubai to Riyadh in 48 minutes, Dubai to Doha in 23 minutes, Dubai to Muscat in 27 minutes.”

The video then states: “It begins November 8th. UAE.”

The Hyperloop One project focusing on building a high-speed transit system consisting of “capsules” that can travel in a network of depressurised underwater vacuum tunnels, which allows them to travel at speeds as high as 1,200 km/h.

Accompanied with the video, Hyperloop One also posted a notice, which read: “This week @HyperloopOne will reveal how UAE residents can get from Dubai to Abu Dhabi in as little as 12 minutes, defining the future of mobility. Click here to see it in motion.”

Details of the project are expected to be revealed on Tuesday, in cooperation with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

Once completed, the high-speed transport system will revolutionize the way people travel, allowing UAE passengers to travel hundreds of kilometres in a matter of minutes through air-cushioned pods speeding through a semi-vacuumed tube.

When commuters start using Hyperloop One, they will be able to travel from Dubai to Abu Dhabi in 12 minutes, which is a fraction what it would normally take by Etihad Rail, at an hour, or one hour and 20 minutes by flight, one hour and 30 minutes by car, and two hours by bus.
