Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra is full of praise for actress Priyanka Chopra’s first Marathi production, Ventilator.

“I’ve already seen the film. Today, I called many of my friends to watch [it], as I am so impressed with the film. I think everybody should see the movie. I am supporting a good film. If Ventilator had not been a good movie, I would have never come here, even if Rajesh Mapuskar has directed it,” Vinod said in Mumbai.

The Marathi film, produced by Chopra and her mother, Madhu Chopra, under their production banner Purple Pebble Pictures, has 116 actors. Ventilator is written and helmed by director Rajesh Mapuskar, of Ferrari ki Sawaari fame.

Vinod also praised the track Baba. Chopra recorded the promotional track in Marathi and dedicated the song to her late father, Ashok Chopra.

Vinod said: “The song is in the Marathi language, and it is so emotional that it could be felt. Cinema has no language.”

Asked about the recent controversy regarding Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, over insulting late legendary singer Mohammad Rafi in the film, Vinod said: “I don’t watch Hindi films these days. The film which you have mentioned, I haven’t seen it, neither I have any interest to see.”
