Dubai: Dubai Police have impounded another reckless driver’s vehicle and confiscated his driver’s licence.

Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Dubai Police Chief, said the man’s driving license was confiscated. The driver was also issued multiple fines for driving recklessly and making dangerous manoeuvres to “show off” his driving skills.

The arrest comes after a driver was arrested earlier this month and ordered to pay Dh500,000 for damages he caused to the road.

In the latest arrest, a driver was fined for driving recklessly, with an expired car registration, an expired driving license and in a way that endangers the public.

Maj Gen Al Mazeina said that a case was also filed against the driver for causing damage to public property and not abiding by traffic rules.

He added that the police are working with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to estimate the worth of the damages, which will be presented in court and the man would have to pay according to the court's ruling.

The driver was caught multiple times on police cameras. He also posted videos of his stunts on social media.

Maj Gen Al Mazeina said they are very serious about stopping such people, who are considered a nuisance and a threat to the safety of other motorists.
