Visa transfer

Visa transfer

Last updated:

A reader from Sharjah asks: I worked for a company in Sharjah for one and a half years and resigned for a better job in Dubai. My visa was cancelled in October 2007 by the previous employer. I left the country and came back on a visit visa after which I was given an NOC by my previous company. My question is do I still get six months' ban? Can the ban be revoked after paying a fine? I just came to know that NOC has to be signed by the sponsor whose signature is valid in the Labour Department even though my NOC was signed by the director of the company who is an authorised signatory. Just in case the local sponsor of the company does not sign an NOC, what are my options and what can be done in this case? My visa issues are going on for the last four months and hence I would like to get it resolved as soon as possible. Kindly advise.

Coming back to the UAE through a visit visa does not mean that the six-month ban has been repealed, as the reader shall have to ask the previous sponsor for an NOC to transfer the sponsorship.

The certificate has to be signed by the same person whose signature has been provided in the company card because such a person is accredited by the Ministry of Labour. All the above will be done after paying the required fees for transferring the sponsorship.
