I am not taking any holiday leave and have requested that I receive my holiday pay while I work. I have also requested for my and my wife's air tickets to be encashed. It is stated in my contract that I am allowed 30 days annual paid leave and annual economy air tickets with Emirates Airline. My employer has refused to pay the value of my air ticket as I am not taking a holiday, but should I choose to go back home to Australia, he is prepared to pay for my ticket, but will not give me a cash allowance for it. He will also not provide an air ticket for my wife. What is my case here?

You are not entitled to demand the employer to provide your cash allowance for the air ticket especially as you have no desire to obtain annual leave or go to your home country. As for your wife's air ticket, the employer also is not obliged to pay unless the same is stated in the labour contract.
