A reader from India asks: I was working for a Dubai-based company. My employer stamped a ban on my passport for one year, which has now expired. Now he is telling me to come to his company again, which I do not want to do. He has even applied for an employment visa for me. Kindly suggest how I can return to Dubai, but not through this employer.

The questioner is not obliged, by any means, to return to the country and work for his previous sponsor. However, the moment his ban period lapses the questioner can return to the country either on a new visa or a visit visa and he might work for any company he chooses, especially as his relation with his previous employer is completely finished.
