Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, paid homage to the Emirati soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty during operation Restoring Hope to support the people of Yemen and their legitimate government.

“The UAE sacrificed its men to defend justice, reject injustice and support our brothers in Yemen,” Shaikh Mohammad said on Twitter.

“Today we offer our heartfelt condolences to the people of the UAE on the death of these heroes. May God have mercy on their souls and bestow patience upon their families,” he added.

“These events will only makes us more steadfast in our stand with justice. The sacrifices of our sons only makes us prouder of them, and with every passing day, we grow more determined to achieve victory. Today, the people of the UAE stand courageously behind their leadership and nation, and are unwavering in their historic stand with the Saudi-led Arab coalition,” Shaikh Mohammad said.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, also paid homage to the martyrs. “A dear galaxy of our sons sacrificed their lives today, decorating their nation and families with medals of pride and glory. The duty of these martyrs will remain a shining example in the history of our nation,” Shaikh Mohammad said on his Twitter account.

“Sacrifices of our heroes make us feel proud about the UAE’s historic stance with it sister Saudi Arabia in driving back the aggression in Yemen and the region,” he tweeted, stressing that the UAE is breathing new life with the sacrifices of its martyrs, who the nation holds in its heart with pride and dignity for their heroism and dedication.

He emphasised that the UAE’s heroes will pursue their quest to fight injustice against their Yemeni brethren.
“Clearing Yemen from the aggressive, rebellious militias which ran amok is a target that we will not be distracted from," Shaikh Mohammad stressed.

“We salute our martyrs with reverence and gratitude for their immortal sacrifice which will be, with Allah’s aid, crowned with victory whose signs are appearing on the horizon. On this blessed day, we pray to the Almighty Allah to grant their souls rest in paradise and bestow patience and solace upon us and upon their families,” Shaikh Mohammad said in conclusion.

Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates also offered condolences to the nation, the leadership and relatives of the martyrs.

Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi of Sharjah praised the sacrifices of the brave martyrs who fought to defend the Arab nation’s dignity.

“The martyrs are heroes who bravely obeyed the call of duty, armed with a strong belief that they must achieve victory or die trying. They were our swords in defending the right,” he said.

Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi of Ajman said the UAE people are proud of the gallant martyrs, who have become heroes in Arab and Islamic history by answering the call of duty with steadfastness and conviction. They sacrificed their lives for a noble cause, he said. Both the UAE and Arab generations, he added, will remember them as loyal defenders of the Arab dignity.

“We will always remember our martyrs. The nation and the people will never forget their historic role. They are the torch that leads to victory,” Shaikh Humaid said.

Shaikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi of Fujairah, offered his sincere condolences to the families of the martyrs who fell in the line of duty during Operation Restoring Hope.

“We mourn our brave martyrs with pride and dignity. By their heroism, they wrote a new chapter in the UAE’s book of glory,” Shaikh Hamad said. “While mourning our martyrs, we renew confidence in our gallant soldiers in the battlefield and confirm that their martyrdom will not weaken our determination to achieve victory and restore hope in Yemen. The blood of these martyrs will only cement our resolve to pursue the course of victory.”

Shaikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla of Umm Al Quwain prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the martyrs’ souls in Paradise and bestow patience and solace to their families. “We mourn our martyrs who wrote a new chapter in our nation’s glory as they bravely defended the dignity and fought to restore hope to our brothers in Yemen,” he said.

Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi of Ras Al Khaimah said the martyrs sacrificed their lives to enable the Yemeni people to enjoy security and stability.

“The martyrs we offered today reflect a true embodiment of the UAE’s pulsing beat of Arab and Islamic identity, and demonstrates its defence of human values and principles and its support for brethren and for distressed people across the world,” Shaikh Saud said.

“The UAE has set a wonderful example of offering what is highly precious in support of brethren everywhere. May Allah preserve the leadership and people of the UAE from any harm.”
