Abu Dhabi: A team of medical volunteers from the UAE has arrived in Bangladesh to provide medical treatment to Rohingya refugees in the country.

The UAE voluntary medical team will run a mobile clinic, which will provide medical services for those in need, especially children and the elderly, under the supervision of Emirati and Bangladeshi doctors. The mobile clinic has been flown in to the refugee site by flydubai.

Dr Adel Al Shamri, Chief Executive Officer of the Zayed Giving Initiative, said that the campaign is part of UAE efforts to assist Rohingya refugees who fled hostilities in Myanmar and facing deteriorating humanitarian conditions.

The campaign is a joint humanitarian initiative that brings together the Zayed Giving Initiative, Dar Al Ber Association, Sharjah Charity House, the UAE-German Hospitals Group, in partnership with local agencies.
