Dubai: An Emirati groom and bride have formalised their marriage contract ceremony through a robot.
The ceremony held at the futuristic Service 1 Centre in Emirates Towers, Dubai, was attended by the bride and groom’s families, as well as representatives from the centre.
The proceedings were conducted through a video conference between the bride and groom and their families with a Dubai Court judge.
The groom, Abdullah Ahmad Tahlak, wed to the daughter of Ali Ahmad Ahli, said that he was happy with this unique experience provided through the centre’s Mabrook Ma Dabart service (congratulations on your marriage).
“I am pleased with trying out this high quality service offered by the UAE Government. I feel very proud to witness these facilities being provided to ensure the happiness of customers,” said Tahlak.
“Despite the fact the service’s idea is non-traditional, I am very happy with it. I encourage youth to benefit from this service, and other smart services offered by the UAE government,” he added.
Mohammad Bin Taleea, Assistant Director-General for Government Services at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, said that the Service 1 Centre reflects the vision of the UAE Government on the nature of services in the future, and represents an advanced model in offering efficient and quick services.
It is the first centre to implement the work of the team of Government Accelerators launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The centre includes 14 government entities and provides smart access to more than 100 government services offered by eight public entities.
