Dubai: Two people were killed and four injured in a collision between a truck and a mini bus  on Emirates Road in the direction of Sharjah on Monday, Dubai Police said.

Meanwhile, seven people sustained moderate to serious injuries in four road accidents on the weekend in Dubai, said police.

Colonel Juma Salem Bin Suwaidan, deputy director of Traffic Department at Dubai Police, said that around 7pm on Saturday, four people suffered minor injuries in a collision between three vehicles on Shaikh Zayed Road in Garhoud-bound lanes of the Trade Centre tunnel.

“The accident happened because a vehicle didn’t follow traffic lane discipline and suddenly swerved. Four people were injured and three vehicles were damaged,” Col Bin Suwaidan said.

A motorist received moderate injuries when his vehicle crashed into the road barrier on Al Khail Road before the Al Waha exit on Saturday at around 11am. 

Another motorist suffered moderate injuries in a collision between two vehicles on Al Khail Road. The accident occurred at around 6.30am as motorists did not leave safe distance between them.

A motorcyclist was seriously injured when his bike crashed into a car on a road under construction in Al Hibab area at 11.25pm on Friday.
