Turkey’s unemployment rate stood at 10.9 per cent in 2017, unchanged from a year earlier, data from the Turkish Statistical Institute showed on Friday.

Unemployment crept up to 10.4 per cent in the November-January period from 10.3 per cent a month earlier, and was down from 12.7 per cent a year earlier, the Turkish Statistical Institute said earlier this month.

Meanwhile Turkey’s inflation will fall to single digits in the second half of this year, President Tayyip Erdogan’s chief economic adviser Cemil Ertem told state broadcaster TRT Haber on Friday.

Last month, annual consumer price inflation stood at 10.26 per cent.
