Dubai: An international design trade fair featuring a selection of quality brands exhibiting their products and concepts will take place in October in Downtown Dubai.

The second edition of the fair called Downtown Design, organised by Art Dubai Group and held under the patronage of Shaikha Latifa Bint Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice-chairman of the board of directors of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, will be held at the foot of Burj Khalifa from October 28 to October 31 and will adopt the theme of ‘Original Design’.

“We are honoured to again have the patronage of Shaikha Latifa Bint Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Through its events, the Art Dubai Group’s mandate is to nurture and develop the cultural scene in Dubai and create viable business opportunities for the creative community. Events such as Downtown Design demonstrate the commercial benefits of operating in Dubai and the huge potential the entire region holds for international brands,” said Benedict Floyd, co-founder and CEO of the Art Dubai Group.

Floyd added that Downtown Design offers a platform for design brands to capture the significant real estate developments recently announced in Dubai and the region, including preparation for Dubai Expo 2020 which offers the design industry countless opportunities.

Visitors to the Downtown Design can view a carefully curated selection of exciting original pieces as well as experiential installations that integrate heritage with technology-driven innovations. The programme will include an expanded series of talks, workshops and interactive spaces that encourage collaboration between developers, architects and designers and offer design enthusiasts a unique opportunity to interact with the world’s design leaders.
