Dubai: Three Bangladeshi men have been charged with human trafficking for allegedly convincing two Indonesian maids, D.L.S. and D.T.K., to abandon their sponsor for better-paying jobs and then forcing them into prostitution.

Dubai Public Prosecution has transferred the case to the criminal court.

One of the three men, H.S.A., 35, was also charged with rape, as he forced himself on D.L.S. twice.

According to court documents, D.L.S., 33, and D.T.K., 42, were tricked into leaving their sponsor’s home where they both worked in Ras Al Khaimah by A.A.M., 24, who was aided by M.F.A, 40.

D.L.S. was sold to H.S.A. in return for cash.

The women were transported between houses in Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai, kept locked up and forced to have sex with men for money.

D.L.S. was locked up for months, but managed to escape when she was allowed to go to the hospital following severe abdominal pain.

She was given Dh500 and transported to a hospital in Ras Al Khaimah, from where she ran away and sought the police’s help.

D.T.S. managed to escape a few days after she was locked up in Dubai. She sneaked out of the house and went to the police.

Court documents showed that there were three other women who were also trafficked with the two victims.
