Claire, a commuter who boarded the train at Business Bay at 5pm, said the service came to a grinding halt at 5.55 pm. “We were stuck for nearly 30 minutes between Dubai International Financial Centre and Emirates Tower station. The announcement made said the metro was halted owing to a technical glitch.”

Another commuter Gerald, who was commuting between Media City and BurJuman, said the metro stopped between FGB and Noor Bank stations for nearly 45 minutes. “We could not make out what was being announced. With the heat and the crowd, many announcements were muffled, the only thing I could make out was there was a technical issue.”
Metro stations witnessed crowding due to the delay and people were being advised to be patient.
