Bollywood actors Abhishek Bachchan, Tabu and Imran Khan will rub shoulders with top stars from the Malayalam industry such as Prithviraj, Nivin Pauly and Amala Paul at the tenth edition of the Asiavision Movie Awards, an annual ceremony in the UAE that honours the best in south Indian cinema, on December 2 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Bachchan, who was recently seen in the Dubai-set comedy Happy New Year, will be bestowed the Asiavision Excellence In Indian Cinema, while actress Tabu will take home the Outstanding Performer award for her role as a tough cop in the thriller Drishyam. Actor Khan, who was last seen in the romantic comedy Katti Batti with Kangana Ranaut, will also attend the awards ceremony to collect the Youth Icon Award.
It’s going to be a big night for Prithviraj and Parvathy, the stars of the Malayalam blockbuster Ennu Ninte Moideen, who will go home with the Best Actor trophies. Actor Nivin Paul, who amassed a loyal fan following after hits such as Premam and Oru Vadakkan Selfie, has won the Man Of The Year Award. The winners were chosen through an online voting system.
Tamil actress Jyothika, who played a housewife who empowers herself through organic farming in her hit comeback film 36 Vayadhinile, will not go back empty handed. She has won the Outstanding Performer in Tamil Cinema award. From the Telugu film industry, actor Rana Daggubati will be given an award for the VFX-laden Bahubali.
Singer Yesudas will be honoured for his contribution to the world of music.
