Guests to the O de Rose were welcomed with rose- scented cold towels and a rose- flavoured drink at the opening of O de Rose.
The lifestyle boutique, located in a villa on Al Wasl Road offers an eclectic mix of furniture, art, tableware, decorative items, designer garments and accessories from around the world.
The boutique, owned by Mimi Shakhashir, Dania Attallah and Nadine Khoury, takes its name from the French word for rose water.
And the rose theme is conspicuous in the décor, the soothing aroma inside and the signature rose flavoured drink and stick ice-cream offered to all visitors.
"We are cousins and often played house as children. Now we have tried to create a store that feels like home," said Shakhashir, who is a fashion designer.
"We offer eccentric one-off pieces, unique designs that blend tradition and timeless beauty with contemporary ideas and designer garments that can be worn in different ways to suit different personalities, because we want this to be a space where people can escape from the mundane and express their individuality. We want to add a dash of rose water in their lives," she added.
The interesting items available at the store include suzani-embroidered contemporary sofas and ottomans from Bokja of Lebanon, brass mezze trays by Karen Chekerdjian, plexi glass floating stools accented with bold ethnic cushions by Nada Debs, hand-stitched snakeskin belts for men and women, crystal-studded pop art by Dutch artist Sol, innovative salwar-dresses by Dubai-based designer Amber, hand-painted wooden bracelets from Thailand and one-of a kind jewellery pieces from India.
