Dubai: Hot and hazy days will continue to prevail over the country this weekend, forecasters said.

Forecasters from the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology said the country is currently affected by the southerly flow. This air mass, which comes from the open desert areas in the southern UAE, are hot compared to the rest of the country.

Coastal areas like Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah will have maximum temperatures of between 42 degree Celsius and 45C, with maximum humidity levels of 70 to 78 per cent. The eastern coast of Fujairah will have a maximum temperature of 39C.

Dubai will be mostly sunny while some clouds may develop in parts of the country like Abu Dhabi city and Al Ain. The clouds in the southern and eastern parts will not be enough to bring rain.

“The chance for convective clouds will be weak because there is a high pressure persisting over the Arabian Peninsula, affecting its southeastern part. The high pressure is pushing the low pressure to the east side. The Indian monsoon trough is not active during these three coming days,” the forecaster told Gulf News.

The Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea will be slight to moderate on Friday and Saturday.
