Ajman: Nucaf Tellicherry showcased their canny blend of youth and experience as they lifted the Alubond T20 Trophy defeating Atlas Foundation by 50 runs. Nucaf’s younger players never had to look beyond the field for advice with a few coaches in their ranks. The tournament was held under the Ajman Cricket Council at the Ajman Eden Garden grounds.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, Tellichery posted 158 for 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs with Anoop Nair topscoring with 51 runs off 33 balls. Pravin Achuthan and Gopa Kumar chipped in with 24 runs and 27 runs respectively.

In reply, Atlas Foundation found the going tough in the face of some tight bowling led by former Kerala Ranji trophy player and Kricket Spero Academy coach CTK Mashood who was well backed up by Shyam Ramesh and Pradeep Hegde with two wickets apiece.

For Atlas Foundation, Iqbal Khan topscored with 30 while Mohammad Kaif hit 22 runs. Atlas were bowled out for 107 runs in 19 overs.

Anoop and Mashood were declared joint winners of the man of the match honours.

Pradeep Hegde of Tellichery was adjudged the best bowler of the tournament while Wajid Khan of Metal Plast won the best batsman award. Abdul Rahman of Atlas Foundation was declared as the player of the tournament.

Meanwhile, in the ongoing 29th Ramadan Rathath MF Cup organised by Sharjah Cricket Club, Shehan Fernando cracked an unbeaten century to ensure Metal Plast an 8-wicket win over Singh Diesel. Fernando hit an unbeaten 140 off 68 balls with 13 boundaries and eight sixes.
