Dubai: It’s just a few months before XCAT racing will venture to Australia for the first time, with the Gold Coast GP scheduled for August 21-23.
To mark the countdown to what promises to be a thrilling spectacle as the greatest motorsport series on water arrives Down Under, local organisers recently promoted the XCAT event at the world renowned Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show on the Gold Coast.
Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate, pilot Tom Barry-Cotter, Director of Maritimo Bill Barry-Cotter and the CEO of Maritimo, Garth Corbitt, were all at the launch of the show.
The show is now in its 27th year and celebrates everything maritime with the industry’s finest, including XCAT boats, showcased against the spectacular backdrop of the Marine Village at Sanctuary Cove on Australia’s Gold Coast.
Earlier this year, Mayor Tate — a new fan of powerboat racing — was at the opening round of the UIM XCAT World Series in the UAE where a press event was held to officially announce the Gold Coast event.
