Legends get under way with kids' day

Dubai: The annual The Legends Rock Dubai will get under way with the kids' day at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel on Monday.

As many as eight former top stars will be involved in singles and doubles competitions over the next four days at the Dubai Tennis Stadium. They are Jim Courier, Stefan Edberg, Sergi Bruguera, Paul Haarhuis, Wayne Ferreira, Anders Jarryd, John Fitzgerald and Mansour Bahrami.

The kids' day will be followed by the pro-am involving amateurs teaming up with the stars and conclude with the traditional charity gala dinner at the Safinah Ballroom of the Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

On-court action

On-court action will commence from 5pm on Wednesday with two singles matches and one doubles exhibition. For the singles, the players have been divided into two groups with Group A featuring Anders Jarryd, Wayne Ferreira and Stefan Edberg, while Group B has Jim Courier, Paul Haarhuis and Sergi Bruguera.

The Legends Rock Dubai is the eighth and final round on the 2008 Outback Champions Series.

The Outback Champions Series features eight events on its 2008 schedule, with each event featuring an eight-man, round-robin match format.
