Abu Dhabi: Mubadala Development Company (Mubadala), the Abu Dhabi-based investment and development unit, has launched an interactive tennis zone in Marina Mall to beat the summer heat and get Abu Dhabi residents and visitors participating in the sport.
The zone, dubbed ‘Fit for the Future', encourages the community to get healthy and active during the summer months as well as usher in the build-up for this year's Mubadala World Tennis Championship.
Opportunities
Ameenah Taher, Mubadala Group Communications Manager, said: "Mubadala is committed to providing opportunities for the Abu Dhabi community to lead healthy and active lifestyles. Having supported the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in 2010 and in the build-up to this year's event in December, this activity is part of a wider effort to enable the local community to get involved in the sport."
Activities in the ‘Fit for the Future' interactive zone will test tennis skills and fitness levels through mini tennis drills, reaction and accuracy tests.
Prizes
As part of the fun-filled family atmosphere, prizes will be available including tickets to this year's Mubadala World Tennis Championship, where some of the world's best players will battle it out at the International Tennis Complex at Zayed Sport City later this year.
In addition, there will also be a photo booth and a large TV screen broadcasting Wimbledon matches for the family to enjoy.
Over the last nine months, Mubadala's community tennis initiatives have already reached over 4,500 people through interactive zones, community and after schools training nights and the Mubadala Tennis in Schools and Community Cup programmes.
‘Fit for the Future,' which opened last Thursday, will continue till July 2 near the Paris Gallery in Marina Mall.
