Dubai: Former world number one Roger Federer is far from finished in tennis, according to his one-time conqueror Marcos Baghdatis.
"This is Roger [Federer] and he is bound to bounce back and start winning everything next year," Baghdatis warned in a conference call to worldwide media before the Malaysian Open starting in Kuala Lumpur from September 27.
Despite the near on-court invincibility shown by Federer over the years, it was Baghdatis who was one of his conquerors following a second-round win against the top-seeded Swiss at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Indian Wells in March this year.
"But he [Federer] has not lost anything this season. He has still won a Grand Slam [Australia]. It is becoming increasingly difficult for tennis players, both mentally and physically. It's more hard now than before and one can't afford to miss any chances that come his way," Baghdatis said.
"Maybe he is tired of it, but knowing Roger he is capable of coming back and winning everything next year," Baghdatis added.
