Dubai: Swedish tennis great Stefan Edberg is relishing to chance to secure some revenge against American Jim Courier in the final of The Legends Rock Dubai at the Dubai Tennis Stadium on Saturday.

At the prime of his career, Edberg lost to Courier in two successive singles finals of the Australian Open in 1992 and 1993.

"Yes, it will be great to play against Jim tomorrow," said Edberg after getting past Anders Jarryd 7-5, 7-5 on Friday.

"I am waiting a lot to play against him and it will be great to get my revenge for those defeats at the Australian Open," added the Swedish tennis star.

"He's a very competitive guy and I am really looking forward to playing against him."

Courier booked his place in today's final with wins against defending champion Paul Haarhuis and Sergi Bruguera.

Edberg reached the final after showing flashes of his past brilliance while he was beating Wayne Ferreira and Anders Jarryd in straight sets.

During his time at the top, Courier won four Grand Slams while Edberg took six.
