Andy Murray's dreams for a Dubai win came to an unfortunate end with his loss to Russian Nikolay Davydenko in their quarterfinal match of the Dubai Tennis Championships on Thursday.

  • Andy Murray's winning streak came to an end as he lost in straight sets to Nikolay Davydenko.

Dubai: Andy Murray's dreams for a Dubai win came to an unfortunate end with his loss to Russian Nikolay Davydenko in their quarterfinal match of the Dubai Tennis Championships on Thursday.

Davydenko defeated the Scot in straight sets 7-5, 6-4, bringing an end to Murray's winning streak which previously ousted defending champion Roger Federer in the first round.

In the other quarterfinal, Feliciano Lopez has progressed to the semifinal after beating Spaniard David Ferrer 6-4, 6-3.

At 7pm, American Andy Roddick will face former champion, Rafael Nadal.
