Dubai Top seed Karim Alaf breezed past Jordan Janszen 6-1, 6-1 to lift the boy's under-14 title at the first Ajman Kempinski Junior Open Tennis Championships which concluded in Ajman last week.

Alaf was in eloquent form as his hard-hitting groundstrokes on either flank exposed the lack of court movement and physical strength of his opponent. In the first set, Alaf was quickly on to a 3-0 lead before Janszen could pull back a game.

But that was all he could do as Alaf went on to win the set 6-1. In the second set games were closely fought with four games going to deuce.

Groundstrokes

But once again it was Alaf's power on the groundstrokes that got him the points at crucial stages as he went on to win the second set 6-1.

The finals were followed by the prize distribution which was presided over by the Hotel Manager Christian Wiendieck, Tennis Emirates Technical Director Slah Bramly and Jason Woon from ProMedia.

The tournament was organised and conducted by Super Sports Tennis Academy as part of its tennis promotion in Ajman. Meanwhile, the Kempinski Ajman will be organising a special summer tennis camp for children in which they can improve their skills, starting from June 10 through to August.
