Dubai: Al Bariz, owned by Ahmad Tarish Atiq Al Qubaisi and skippered by Mohammad Ahmad Tarish Al Qubaisi, won Heat 4 of the 22ft Dubai Traditional Dhow Sailing Race on Friday.
Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) organised the heats for the final round of marine racing calendar (2015-2016), which kicked off at Mina Seyahi, Dubai.
Rival boat Muhajir, owned by Khadim Abdullah Khadim Al Qubaisi and skippered by Majid Ahmad Khadim Al Muhairi came in second. Toufan, owned by Mohammad Ahmad Jaber and skippered by Ahmad Esmail Ahmad Al Marzouqi, finished third taking top spot in Heat 3.
Battling away for the last two positions were Al Shaqi and Al Zeeb.
DIMC board members Eisa Bin Kharbash, Chairman of Sports Committee, and Khalid Bin Dasmal, together with the DIMC Acting CEO Hezaim Al Gamzi later attended the awards ceremony.
