A mass brawl between players of the UAE Falcons and Liban Espoir of Lebanon in the Rugby League resulted in the match being abandoned.
Dubai: A mass brawl between players of the UAE Falcons and Liban Espoir of Lebanon in the Rugby League resulted in the match being abandoned.
The two sides clashed in the third quarter of a match, divided into four to cope with the summer heat. The UAE team led 16-6 when the referee said enough was enough.
Sol Makdad, who is the development director of the league, said he was disappointed, as so much has gone into putting the match.
He said, "We are to send a message that if things like this happen, the players will be disciplined and the game will go on."
A rematch is planned on Monday night, but the trouble makers will be banned.
