Dubai: The fledgling Dubai Falcons club continue to take big steps forward, despite finding the going hard in the Gulf Tournament.
The squad, which showcases emerging Emirati talent, went down 19-17 to Hurricanes II and then 29-24 to Doha before opening their account with a 28-0 success over Muscat.
But manager Saood Belshalat said the future remains bright for the Falcons. "We're about 70 per cent better than last year, we have a lot more confidence and experience," he said.
"We have linked up with the Dubai Dragons and training and playing with them has made a huge difference.
"After Dubai, we will be competing in the Sharjah 10s in the new year, the new Arab sevens tournament and possibly at a competition in Amsterdam."
