Athens, Greece: The newly-formed World Professional Powerboat Association (WPPA) yesterday launched its own website prior to the start of the Greek Grand Prix - the opening round of the 2007 WPPA Class One World Powerboat Championship.
The interactive website was launched by Saeed Hareb, Chairman of the WPPA and Managing Director of the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) in the presence of top officials from the WPPA and other teams.
"Our aim is to be as professional as possible and the website will be one of the tools to ensure that the sport comes closer to the fans," Hareb remarked.
The WPPA was launched in the first week of December last year when all participating teams voted unequivocally to back a new body to run Class One due to lopsided rules from the UIM, the world governing body for watersport.
The website can be accessed at www.thewppa.com.
