While Kevin, Mohammad and Sunita rest before their next adventure tomorrow, why don't you stock up on your fishy knowledge.
Do you know your Hammour from your Snapper? Can you hold your own out in the sea? Take our handy little quiz to see how you measure.
If questions aren't your thing, how about you brush up on your knowledge of Emirati culture, by listening to a traditional UAE fishermen’s song that captures the unique bond between Emiratis and the sea.
As the fishermen sail out into the deep, they pray to Allah for a safe trip on the rough seas, hope that the catch of the day will be bountiful and pray that their loved ones be safe and sound while the men of the house are away.
Gulf News reporters Kevin Scott and Mohammad Al Khan are blogging from the UAE's biggest fishing competition yet, held in Fujairah this weekend.
