Strong Egyptian delegation at Greece
There is a strong delegation from Egypt at the opening race of the 2007 WPPA Class One World Powerboat Championship in Athens.
Athens, Greece: There is a strong delegation from Egypt at the opening race of the 2007 WPPA Class One World Powerboat Championship in Athens.
The delegation is led by the Minister of Civil Aviation Ahmad Shafiq, along with the Governor of Marsa Matrouh, Marshal Mohammad Al Shahat, Mansour Ahmad, the Chairman of the Amar Group and the deputy ministers for Tourism and Construction and Development.
Key points
"It is important for us to come and see what is needed for the successful staging of a Class One race in Egypt," stated Adel Farahat, the general manager of Porto Marina - the organisers of the Class One round in Egypt later this year.
Athens and Egypt are being joined by Constanta in Romania as the three new venues on the Class One calendar for 2007. Oslo and Arendal in Norway, Doha in Qatar and Dubai are the other venues this season.
