Show Jumping Championship to bring curtain down on season
Most of the top riders in the UAE will be seen in action in the three-day Hydra Properties-sponsored Emirates National Show Jumping Championship starting tomorrow at the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club.

Abu Dhabi: Most of the top riders in the UAE will be seen in action in the three-day Hydra Properties-sponsored Emirates National Show Jumping Championship starting tomorrow at the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club.
Addressing a press conference here yesterday, Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim, CEO, Hydra Properties said, "On behalf of Shaikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, President of the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, we are happy to announce the Emirates National Show Jumping Championship which will bring the curtain down on the domestic season."

"Hydra Properties broke new ground when we became the first private company to support Show Jumping last year and now we are here to confirm our sponsorship for the second year," he said.
The Emirates National Show-jumping Championship to be held on May 1, 2 & 3 at the Sharjah Equestrian & Racing Club will see riders take part in four different categories.
"Most of the top riders in the UAE will be there as this is the final event of the season and we can expect some good performances," Al Fahim said.
"Hydra Properties have been involved in supporting equestrian events in the recent past and I would like to re-emphasise that at Hydra Properties, we endeavour to modernise the UAE with our real estate development while at the same time strive to preserve and keep alive the UAE's tradition and culture," he said.
Prize money
The total prize money for category A riders is Dh100,000 while Category B riders will compete for a slice of the Dh50,000 on offer. The total prize money for category C and D riders is Dh30,000 and Dh20,000 respectively.
Lara Sawaya, Managing Director of Tasweeq, who also addressed the press conference said, "Even though the season in UAE ends we will see more sponsors for event in international events.
"We will be making announcement shortly on the sponsored-racing events to be staged this summer in some European destinations," she said.
