Mizzna tipped to claim fourth win on the trot

Abu Dhabi: The great Alanudd's daughter Mizzna will be back at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club with an eye on her fourth successive win of the season in the Liwa Oasis Group 1 race.

Trainer Eric Lemartinel is also likely to have a good night as Shadiyda is also likely to enter the winner's enclosure tonight.

Mizzna, like her mother Alanudd, is one of the most popular Purebred Arabians in the UAE, and the National Day Cup (Group 1) winner under Tadhg O'Shea will be the one to beat in the seven-furlong race.

Can't write him off

Mizzna's biggest threat is UAE-bred President's Cup Group 1 winner Dynamite, though the seven-year-old gelding will have to recover from Wednesday's run in Doha, where he came ninth.

The Saifaldin Deeb-trained champion UAE-bred has been beaten by Mizzna twice this season but after his win over Madjani in the President's Cup, one just can't write him off. Shadiyda, under Gerard Avranche, should do well in his prep run ahead of the March 29, Kahayla Classic.

The Emirates Colts Classic, a Prestige race for UAE-bred Purebred Arabians, has attracted a small field for the Dh100,000 race over a mile. Gillian Duffield's AF Qa'ed, under Ted Durcan, is odds on, with Saifaldin Deeb's Assoof, under Keagan Latham, the main danger.

In the night's only race for Thoroughbreds, a field of 16 will start in the Fujairah Handicap. Erwan Charpy's Skywards, Mike de Kock's Kayak, Herman Brown's Officer, Mussabah Al Muhairi's Quorum and Mick Channon's Go On Be A Tiger are all in with a chance.
